Corri McFadden’s week is a flurry of fashion. Between running her online luxury consignment business, eDrop-off, designing her jewelry collection and attending high-profile events, the entrepreneur barely has time to pick out the perfect accessory, let alone take a moment for herself — until Sunday rolls around.
“It’s my day to melt and put myself back together,” she says. Her nonstop schedule also means that time spent with her fiancée, Spiro Tsaparas, CEO of Centaur Construction, is minimal. So the couple — who will wed in Capri, Italy, in 2013 — devotes Sundays to each other. “I’m in the scene all week and I love it,” she says. “But Sundays are about Spiro and me. We always know that one day is cleared on our agenda for each other.”
But that doesn’t mean her day is entirely casual; McFadden also spends a couple of hours on work. She checks in on every eDrop-off auction, including the company’s collection of 3,000 pieces of vintage Chanel; works on expanding into other markets such as Miami, Dallas and Houston; and designs her new eponymous costume jewelry line. The collection features bracelets and necklaces that utilize vintage brooches in new and innovative ways. “Each piece is unique and original,” she says. “When you go to a lunch next week, you know your girlfriend isn’t going to be wearing the exact same thing. And I love the idea of giving something a second life.”
Here, McFadden details her Sunday routine.
The couple walks their two Yorkies, Emma and Harley, near the lakefront or down Oak Street.
McFadden puts on comfy clothes, pops the week’s reality TV shows on in the background and settles in to catch up on emails, sweep through the eDrop-off auctions and read her favorite fashion magazines, including Vogue and Elle.
She drops by Spa Emilia (21 W. Elm) for a manicure and pedicure.
Tsaparas whips up dinner for the duo. “Spiro is an amazing cook,” says McFadden. Her favorites? His Greek village salad, fried zucchini and souvlaki. “He’s the king of Greek cuisine.”
They wind down the day with a glass of vino at Cru Café & Wine Bar (25 E. Delaware).
