Erik White, digital director at CBS, first laid eyes on Alycia Burgner, an event coordinator at Bottleneck Management, in 2008 in the lobby of the building where they both worked. For two years he kept his casual crush quiet until his friends ran into Burgner at a local bar — and put in a call to White. On his drive home to the suburbs White decided to take a chance, turned around and headed back to the city where his friends made the introduction and the two chatted the night away. Within a year the couple was engaged, and they tied the knot on Sept. 22 at the J.W. Marriot with 270 guests in attendance. At the reception, the couples’ parents took to the dance floor for their own song to honor their long marriages — Burgner’s parents celebrated 30 years a few days before the wedding and White’s parent’s celebrated 39 years a few months prior — and wish the newlyweds just as many years of happiness. The couple said it was a standout moment they’ll never forget. “To have them all there was truly amazing,” says Burgner. In fitting tribute to the way they met, guests partied the night away at Old Town Pour House, one of the bars owned by Burgner’s employer, and finished the weekend festivities off with a close-knit Sunday brunch.
