Eighteen local acts — including headliner Raheem DeVaughn, La Obra and poets from Young Chicago Authors. M.A.D.D. — turned out for the second annual Chicago Westside Music Festival Aug. 24 and 25. The free concert series kicked off with a VIP reception at Velvet Lounge (67 East Cermak), where 100 lucky music lovers had a meet-and-greet with singer, songwriter and pianist Avery Sunshine. The Sun-Times was the media sponsor of this event.
