I’m sure at one point or another you’ve had a boss who was not operating from the best place, and caused you to feel depressed, angry or insecure about your job. In my own life, I’ve had a plethora of the good, bad and the ugly when it came to my “higher-ups.”
I noticed that the more insecure a boss was in their position, the more they would take it out on their employees. Also, not to be sexist, but my female bosses were sometimes crabbier than the men. One could say its because women are hormonal, but I would say that is only a SMALL portion of it.
My theory, from what I have witnessed, is that women have such a hard time making their way up the corporate ladder that when they finally make it there, they are tough broads. CEOs are mostly men, so unless you’re a fierce, powerful force of nature, you might not make it to the top. And if they do make it, chances are their bark is as bad as their bite.
I’m interested in hearing your stories about horrible bosses you’ve had in your life. Why did you think they were horrible? And what did you do about it? Did you ever tell him or her off? My curious mind wants to know!
