Ever After: David Heiner & Whitney Reynolds

By Chiara Milioulis / Style & Beauty / November 29, 2013

Not many couples get the chance to watch their wedding unfold on the small screen. But in April of next year, Chicagoans Whitney Reynolds and David Heiner will relive their big day on WYCC-Channel 20’s “I Do, Chicago Style.” The two-hour special follows Reynolds — who’s no stranger to the camera as the host of WTTW-Channel 11’s “The Whitney Reynolds Show” — and Heiner, an account executive at Voxware, as they plan and execute their Nov. 2 nuptials. Though the bride hails from Oklahoma and the groom from Pittsburg, the pair decided to give their 250 guests an authentic Chicago experience. From enlisting the help of skincare specialist Leah Chavie to working with Platinum Events to find perfect lighting, the two chose only local vendors to help bring their vision to life. “This is the number one city to get married in,” says Reynolds. The couple hosted their rehearsal dinner at Navy Pier and tied the knot in the West Loop’s Soul City Church (1130 W. Adams), where their dog Puffy Doo-Little walked down the aisle in a bridesmaid’s dress and Reynolds accessorized her Vera Wang gown with wedged Nike high tops. “We call our wedding ‘hipsters gone glam,’ ” she jokes. For the reception, the party moved to Lacuna Artist Lofts (2150 S. Canalport) in Pilsen, where guests danced the night away while taking in sweeping views of the skyline.
