When a young couple purchased the top floor of a Lincoln Park three-flat, built in 1917, their goal was to replace the outdated ’90s décor with a style more reminiscent of the building’s origins. “They wanted to bring it back to what it would have been when it was built, starting with the retro appliances,” says Zuelke, who came up with a throwback design that perfectly complemented the home’s original era, but incorporated modern features and top-of-the-line functionality. < Much of the design revolved around the retro appliances, including the Northstar 1959 model refrigerator with French doors (the homeowners chose it in white).
