AGE: 30. LIVES IN: Humboldt Park. CLAIM TO FAME: Social media beauty sensation and professional makeup artist. BEAUTY BEGINNINGS: I always loved makeup. I didn’t love wearing it as much as I loved doing it for my friends. I started working for MAC as a part-time job during college. I ended up working for them for almost six years and loved every second of it. I fell in love with makeup and the art of the face, bone structure and color theory. I never thought I’d make a career out of it. DAY-TO-DAY: I do so much within my role — editorial, prints, weddings, personal client [sessions] and tutorials. STYLE MUSE: I love looking at old beauty images, advertisements [and] period films. I love Brigitte Bardot, the ’60s, disco. YOUTUBE STAR: I made a couple YouTube videos that I did on a whim and they exploded. A lot of the [tutorials] I do are questions I get from clients — whether it’s how to put on a lash, how to contour, what the best foundation is, how to do a winged eyeliner, how to do brows. I use that as fuel for what I put out there. WINTER SHIELD: Water is super important. If you’re hydrating your body, your skin is going to reflect that. I use a Peter Thomas Roth peel ($48; Peterthomasroth.com) every day. It’s an extra gentle peel that eats away at the dead skin and helps prevent breakouts. I also pile on Vitamin E oil and let that soak in while I sleep. NYE TIP: It’s a fun time to explore lashes and a great way to add intensity and emphasis to your face. It makes you bright-eyed, and come 1 a.m., you can probably use that on New Year’s. LAST DAY PLANS: New Year’s Eve is a crazy time for me. Last year, I did 17 faces in a day. Since my husband [DJ Matt Roan] and I work on the days when everyone is having fun, we use Tuesdays and Wednesdays as our weekend. We love going on adventures and exploring the city.
Sometimes different looks call for a bolder or subtler brow, and I can get either with these two products.
