“We like saying ‘Wearing Rebecca Taylor is the feeling of wearing beautiful,’ ” says the New Zealand designer. It was a beautiful day, indeed, last week when Taylor joined a group of female entrepreneurs — TV host Brittney Payton, blogger Kelly Larkin, SoulCycle’s Jaclyn Mitgang and CUSP Fashion Director Caroline Maguire — at the CUSP and United Women in Business’ Female Power Panel.
The Neiman Marcus (737 N. Michigan) event also served to show off Taylor’s newest collection, an ultra-springy compilation of mixed-and-matched prints, florals and feminine looks. “[The line] was inspired by English textile designers at the turn of the century,” Taylor says.
Taylor’s personal favorite piece from the collection? The sleeveless crochet-lace midi dress ($875), adorned with intricate stitching and cut with a triangle keyhole in the back. We love the pieces with patchwork prints, like a mosaic of blossoming patterns.
