Ever After: Rachel Geller & Max Kaplan
Rachel Geller describes her courtship with Max Kaplan as serendipitous. The pair went on their first date in February 2012, but — call it timing — they didn’t hit it off. Still, for the next year, they kept crossing paths. “Max and I would randomly run into each other in the city,” says Geller, 30, a social worker. “Fate was putting us in the same world at different moments throughout the year.”
Sparks finally flew in May 2013, and two years later, Kaplan, 29, a financial advisor, got down on one knee. A year after that, the two wed in a traditional Jewish ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago (120 E. Delaware) March 5.
Their 250 guests danced all night in the grand ballroom — which was decorated with ivory, white and light pink floral arrangements by Kehoe Designs — with “I [heart] Rachel and Max” sunglasses and glowsticks.
