By / Parties / September 8, 2016

The Chicago-based youth performance group danced, rapped and sang on the Park West stage (322 W. Armitage) Aug. 14 to raise awareness for violence in Chicago at the annual benefit, Opportunity Please Knock. Co-chaired by Maureen and Marc Schulman, the fundraiser honored Chance the Rapper with the Legacy Award and celebrated the late composer/activist Oscar Brown Jr.’s 90th birthday with performances by his daughter Maggie Brown and “Something About Oscar” star Morris Gearing. The event raised $40,000 for the organization, which works to encourage positive values and social change.
