Lace is the ultimate representation of femininity — but, with the return of grunge, it gets an all-black update. For Fall 2016, designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Altuzarra and Sonia Rykiel incorporated noir lace into frilly button-up dresses, silky slips and lacquered maxis, respectively. Instagram stars like Chicago’s Thida Lertsburapa of That Girl Gick and Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad softened the monochromatic look with white lace-up booties and crushed velvet heels with a bright red lip, respectively. This fall, step over to the dark side.
