A hip-hop/ballet troupe from the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center — also known as “hiplet” dancers — performed at the Hilton Chicago (720 S. Michigan) for the organization’s annual ball Dec. 3. Themed “Moments: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow,” the evening celebrated the fund’s milestones in advancing pediatric medical research, and featured a touching video of two Lurie Children’s patients treated for brain tumors. Co-chaired by Ann and John Amboian and Ashley Hemphill Netzky and Pam Netzky, the evening raised more than $2.5 million to benefit the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
