Woody’s Winter Warm-Up

By / Parties / January 26, 2017

Cubs players and coaches past and current competed for tips in former pitcher Kerry Wood’s bartending competition Jan. 13, serving over 500 guests to raise money for the Wood Family Foundation. Emceed by WGN Radio’s Pete McMurray and Jane Monzures, the fundraiser at Harry Caray’s Tavern, Navy Pier (700 E. Grand) included a meet-and-greet with members of the World Series Chicago Cubs, plus special guests like Taylor Kinney, Drake Bell and Rhymefest. The event raised more than $200,000 for the Pitch In mentorship program, which provides support and opportunities for fourth- through eighth-graders in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood.
