The Grammys are a night of heart-stopping performances, underdog wins and, most of all, jaw-dropping red carpet looks. This year was no exception, as music’s biggest stars came out in unbelievably glamorous gowns that seemed surprisingly tame (besides, of course, CeeLo Green’s all-gold ensemble). Here are our top 10 best-dressed celebs of the night.
J.Lo has come a long way since the legendary green Versace dress in 2000, which she fondly recalled while presenting the award for Best New Artist to Chicagoan Chance the Rapper. Lopez looked delicate in this lilac Ralph & Russo gown, accented with Christian Louboutin shoes and Butani jewelry.
Adele chose an elegant statement-making gown to collect her many awards — for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album — in. The custom Givenchy Couture by Riccardo Tisci was made of green silk and embroidered with Swarovski crystals.
It’s doubtful there will ever be a year Beyoncé does not top all of the best-dressed lists. Though she didn’t hit the red carpet in it, her onstage golden Peter Dundas gown was embroidered with sun rays and hugged Queen Bey’s twin-sized baby bump, making her look like a true goddess.
Taraji P. Henson
Henson stood out in the crowd of gowns in a short Marc Jacobs dress embellished with tiny moons and lightning bolts. Even better, the purple dress looked as if it could have been a tribute to the late Prince, who was honored with a performance by Bruno Mars during the show.
King showed off her fun personality in this pink floral Armani gown and matching flower crown. The nominee’s many tattoos gave the girlish dress a cool edge.
Chance the Rapper
Chicago’s golden boy sported a custom Thom Browne denim suit and his signature Chance 3 hat while taking home the Grammys for Best New Artist, Rap Album and Rap Performance.
Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild put a refreshing modern twist on fringe — a classic country staple — with this embroidered purple gown.
Best New Artist nominee Kelsea Ballerini made a great first impression in this delicate, sheer Ines Di Santo gown. It seems like it could be the start of a great red-carpet career for the breakthrough country artist.
Legend, who performed the Beach Boys’ ‘God Only Knows’ at the show, stunned in Gucci. The salmon shirt and oversized bow tie added a pop of color alongside wife Chrissy Teigen’s all-black cut-out dress.
The five-year-old daughter of power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z stole the show this year, from her cameo in mom’s amazing performance to her adorable pink Gucci suit, complete with a ruffled blouse (another touching tribute to Prince).
