A record 700 guests — including boxing legends David Diaz, Frank “Time Bomb” Scalise and Montell “Ice” Griffin — filled the Drury Lane Theatre (100 Drury, Oakbrook Terrace) for the Charities’ third annual boxing competition Feb. 3. Partygoers watched Golden Glove-style amateur boxing fights while others tried their luck with craps, blackjack and roulette. More than $112,000 was raised to benefit the LOSS (Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide) Program, which helps family members cope with a loved one’s suicide.
