The dance ensemble celebrated its 25th birthday with a live performance at the Feb. 4 bash, hosted by Broadway star Ann Reinking. Partygoers at the Chicago History Museum (1601 N. Clark) showed their own moves, dancing to live band Swing Assembly. Former Joffrey dancer Michael Anderson, Whittney M. Young Magnet High School dance program director Jeanette Gordon and The Nugent Network president Michael Nugent co-chaired the event, which raised nearly $90,000 to support the “New Dances” program, an in-house series that helps Chicago’s choreographers create new works.
