Black Women’s Expo

By Ashley Mizuo / Parties / May 3, 2017

Thoughtful discussion and art expression made for an empowering three-day event at McCormick Place (2301 S. King). Congresswoman Maxine Waters began the weekend with a keynote address, and was followed by gospel entertainment later in the event. Activities included a Teen Summit Explosion — featuring performances by Little Black Pearl and Monet Dancers — a discussion with Vivica A. Fox and a Town Hall Series, “Stand Your Ground,” during which activists discussed solutions to urban issues.
