The Service Club of Chicago’s Spring Luncheon

By / Parties / May 23, 2017

More than 350 attendees took a page out of the British style handbook May 18 when they turned out in eccentric hats and fascinators at Saddle & Cycle Club (900 W. Foster). Illustrator Rosemary Fanti depicted guests as they arrived at the “Très Chic”-themed event, hosted by Sherrill Bodine and Lynda Silverman and emceed by WGN-TV’s Micah Materre. Later, partygoers sat down for lunch — for which tables were decorated with millinery-inspired centerpieces by Michaela Parrillo — and helped induct Mamie Walton into the club’s Chapeaux Hall of Fame. The luncheon raised $140,000 to support The Service Club’s philanthropic grants in 2018.

Did you know? Missed the party? Don’t fret: The Service Club will host another bash, Day at the Races, June 25 at Arlington Park. For tickets ($150/adult, $50/children), visit Serviceclubofchicago.org.
