Adulting is hard. Take a night off and relive childhood memories with a “glamping” trip at Northerly Island Aug. 11, when Chicago Parks Foundation hosts its second annual Camp Northerly — an adult’s-only urban camping experience.
The 24-hour excursion trades the hustle and bustle of city life for an evening under the stars with sunset bocce ball, live music and, of course, s’mores roasting over the fire. But forget pitching your own tent or hunting for a meal: It’s all taken care of, so you can sit back and relax with a Goose Island lager in hand. Wake up to the sun rising over the skyline feeling refreshed with Dark Matter coffee and beer-mosas, followed by yoga led by Zen Yoga Garage and paddle boarding for the adventure types.
Admission ($150 or $125 for BYO tent), includes activities, food, drink and accommodations. Prefer your own bed? Grab an evening-only ticket ($95) to spend time outdoors with your friends. Chicagoparksfoundation.org/event/camp-northerly/
