The 8th annual Chairs for Charity event is just a week away and we’ve got your first peek at the spectacular seating selections. Sixteen designers’ one-of-a-kind chairs will be modishly featured for auction Oct. 3 and the artists are bringing their A-game this year – so it’s only right we share a glimpse of what to expect.
Life is but a dream with the “Spinderella” chair, inspired by the capricious and whimsical Black Crow Studio wall coverings. The design team closely collaborated with two local Chicago artists – is that why we see hues of Cubbie blue?
For the brighter side, consider the “Ma Cherie.” It’s King Louis XVI meets Carrie Bradshaw. A bold punch of berry-colored velvet was the magic that breathed life into this classic, but formerly dated style.
While the decision between blue and pink usually lends itself to a trendy gender reveal, this reveal can be served up swiftly with a cocktail.
Take your pick Oct. 3, (6-8:30 p.m.) at Marshall’s Landing inside the Merchandise Mart (222 W. Merchandise Mart). Complimentary drinks and appetizers will be served, and ticket proceeds go to Designs for Dignity, an organization creating inviting environments for nonprofits. Check back this week for more seating sneak peeks!
