Just a few moments after proposing to Tetyana Boyduy, Nicholas Larrow II had already set a non-negotiable. “My family is half Italian and I have an immense love for Italy,” says the 39-year-old owner of lifestyle management consultant firm The Millennial Group. “Right after she accepted, I told her it was a deal breaker if we didn’t get married there.”
Boyduy, 29, a brand manager, obliged, and after doing some research via Instagram, set her heart on Florence. Their September wedding was a four-day affair for 52 guests, starting with a wine tasting at an art gallery and a rehearsal dinner at a Tuscan trattoria before the ceremony, which was held at one of the oldest churches in Florence, Chiesa dei Santi Apostoli. “There was a minute delay in her entering the church, and I heard the doors crack,” Larrow remembers. “I looked back and I could just barely see her face under the veil — it was a sneak peek of what was about to happen and it actually [calmed] me.”
The reception venue, Villa la Vedetta, was another one of Boyduy’s Instagram discoveries — and it was the view that drew her in. After a cocktail hour in the hotel’s Italian garden, the wedding party went upstairs to the terrace, where they were met with a sweeping panorama of Piazzale Michelangelo, Ponte Vecchio and a Florentine sunset.
The long weekend culminated with brunch, before the couple and a few guests traveled to Capri for a pre-honeymoon celebration.
