More than 27,000 lights illuminated a 50-foot Christmas tree at the Mag Mile shopping center (900 N. Michigan) for a Winter Wonderland event benefitting Make-A-Wish Illinois. Mistress of Ceremonies Candace Jordan hosted the event Nov. 16, when the space was transformed with luxurious décor by Kehoe Designs for the second annual tree lighting celebration. Highlights included the Chicago Children’s Choir welcoming Old Saint Nick with their rendition of “Here Comes Santa Claus,” before Santa himself arrived with a Make-A-Wish child Erin Flowers to lead the countdown and unveil the holiday lights. The event was free and open to the public, with all $15 suggested donations going toward the Make-A-Wish Illinois chapter.
