Patio season is (almost) back, and we can’t wait to spend our summer days dining alfresco. Here, we’re rounding up some of our favorite outdoor eateries for brunch, lunch or happy hour on Summer Fridays — gram-able moment included. Cheers!
The Baltimore-based Mexican eatery in Lakeview has four fire pit lounges, an outdoor bar — complete with sweet, smoky and spicy cocktails — and giant garage doors that open for the warmer months. Sign us up for the bottomless brunch ($39.95), please!
’Gram-able moment: Make a pit stop inside, where a neon sign bears the motto, “Feed me tacos and tell me I’m pretty.”

Taco Bell isn’t the only option for Mexican-food loving Cubs fans anymore: This Wicker Park favorite just opened a two-story taco bar and patio right across from the field. Big windows give customers a view of the stadium and Park at Wrigley, and a pick-up window is coming soon.
’Gram-able moment: Despite all the renovations happening in the ’hood lately, the Wrigley Field marquee remains a piece of Chicago history.

Situated at the corner of Damen and Division, this vegetarian-friendly patio is a prime place to people-watch in the heart of Wicker Park. The menu boasts vegan and vegetarian options like roasted cauliflower ($16) and pig ear pasta ($15), plus an awesome weekday happy hour with $6 drinks (4:30-6 p.m.)
’Gram-able moment: Order a carrot margarita, made with tequila, chile liqueur, carrot and agave and snap a pic before it’s gone.

With its bright, airy interior, it feels like summer all year around at the West Loop’s Mediterranean/American restaurant. But when the pergola-covered patio opens May 4 — it’s doubling in size this year — it will truly feel like an urban oasis. Did we mention frosé is back?
’Gram-able moment: Take a page out of bloggers’ books and pose in front of Eden’s outdoor palm leaf mural next to the (free!) parking lot.

Opened last summer, this Lincoln Park spot is named for local legendary con man David Kennison. Spend your Saturday morning at Green City Market just across the street, then grab a table on the patio for brunch.
‘Grammable moment: Satisfy your sweet tooth — and do it for the Insta — by ordering a cinnamon roll to share ($7). The decadent treats are made with caramelized white chocolate ganache and pecan butter toffee. #EEEEEATS
The Virgin Hotels Chicago restaurant takes comfort food up a notch with menu items like chilaquiles ($17), chicken and waffles ($21) and a seven-layer chocolate cake ($8). And soon, you can enjoy it all alfresco: The patio has swing-set tables, lounge seating and all-day breakfast.
’Gram-able moment: Kiss winter goodbye — literally — and strike a pose on the giant red lips “sofa” out front.
This might be the city’s trendiest sports bar. The Logan Square eatery’s 6,000-square-foot patio has fire pits for s’mores-making, bocce ball for a little friendly competition and a new outdoor camper bar.
’Gram-able moment: There are plenty of Insta-worthy moments to choose from here, but get your squad together in front of the camper bar for a picture you’ll all want to post.
