In honor of its Michigan Avenue location expansion, Italian fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo is bringing a taste of old Hollywood to Chicago this weekend. The celebration coincides with the 95th anniversary of the designer’s first boutique/studio — dubbed The Hollywood Boot Shop — opening.
The chic weekend kicked off last night with an exclusive VIP cocktail party benefiting Girls Support Girls; today, the store is hosting local fashion illustrator Kristine Steiner to sketch custom portraits and, tomorrow, HMR Designs’ Rishi Patel will be creating floral bouquets. The label is also launching a pair of limited edition handbags — 95 of each will be available, a nod to the anniversary — and introducing Creations, replications of some of the designer’s original pieces.
1-6 p.m. Friday, 2-6 p.m. Saturday, call (312) 397-0464 for private appointments, 645 N. Michigan; Ferragamo.com
