It was a blast of energy, from the red carpet to the dance floor, as more than 1,000 guests gathered at the 12th annual GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Centers’ annual gala on February 2 at Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel. Vivica A. Fox — actress, producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist — hosted the evening and even personally auctioned off a private lunch with her in Beverly Hills. Pop icon Taylor Dayne kicked off the dance party that lasted all night, and she performed the legendary hit “Tell It to My Heart.” The band 7th Heaven took the stage after Dayne. Proceeds from the gala support GiGi’s Playhouse’s free, life-changing programming such as one-on-one tutoring and career training for children and adults with Down syndrome.
