It was the chance to make an ocean of difference for aquatic life. The 25th anniversary of the black-tie fundraiser attracted more than 600 supporters to Shedd Aquarium on May 18. The evening included cocktails, a feast of sustainably sourced seafood, and entertainment by Musicality of “America’s Got Talent.” An aquatic presentation culminated with an appearance by California sea lions, Pacific white-sided dolphins, green-winged macaws, and more. Event cochairs Hilary and Lloyd Semple, with honorary chair Marian Phelps Pawlick, showed everyone the importance of fundraising for Shedd Aquarium’s marine and freshwater research, global animal rescue initiatives, and accessibility efforts. The event raised nearly $2 million.
