The Lyric Opera of Chicago (20 N. Wacker) rolled out the red carpet for the opening night of its 60th season Sept. 27. Sponsored by Aon Corporation, the formal affair featured a new production of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and attracted high-profile guests, including former Mayor Richard M. Daley, General Director of Seattle Opera Aidan Lang and Joffrey Ballet’s Artistic Director Ashley Wheater. Prior to the performance, an intimate reception and dinner was held in memory of Debby Jannotta, a longtime member of the Lyric’s Women’s Board.
