The scene: It was a swanky Saturday night for attendees at the timeless Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel (200 N. Columbus). Dressed in black-tie attire, guests were treated to a speech from Mayor Rahm Emanuel and were surprised to hear that all fundraising from the night would be graciously matched by Richard Logan, who was being honored with the Kurt L. Schultz Individual Service Award.
The invite list: The stirring evening was emceed by WMAQ-Channel 5’s Zoraida Sambolin, while Paul C. Reilly and wife, Diane, co-chaired. Bank of America was gifted the Organization of the Year award after five years of charitable support. Also in the party crowd was Fenger High School Principal Liz Dozier, who shared personal insight into the world of Chicagoland’s disadvantaged youth.
The bottom line: More than $770,000 was raised to benefit more than 8,000 children from 78 Chicagoland neighborhoods. Youth Guidance remains a leading force in driving disadvantaged children to find success in school, career and beyond.
