The scene: The Fourth of July was a day of celebration as former Miss USA Kenya Moore — now of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” — hosted an event to support HIV awareness and testing in communities for people of color. The D’Nero Group produced the bash, which featured specialty drinks by Seagram’s Escapes and appetizers at Coup d’Etat (2109 S. Wabash).

The invite list: The more than 300 attendees included Moore’s co-host, Miss Illinois USA 2014 Brittany J. Middlebrooks, Grammy winner and poet Malik Yusef and owner of Skin Logica Spa Susan Anthony, along with popular local bloggers. Later, local singer and actor Ivan Ellis of FOX’s “Empire” treated guests to a medley of songs.
