Boys will be boys at this new Andersonville outpost
All little boys dream of exploring the wild west or flying to the moon. Now, a new North Side boutique caters to the grown-up versions of those little boys, stocking dozens of brands that indulge a sense of adventure.
Opening this weekend by Andersonville duo Matthew Buccilla and Greg Lanier, Cowboys and Astronauts is an expertly curated, upscale general store for guys, offering everything from clothing to apothecary products to candles, housewares and even toys, for a touch of nostalgia.
Sourced from around the country and beyond, products include Whistler-based Hollow Tree candles (pictured at top), which smell of the woodsy Pacific Northwest; handmade leather goods from Austin’s Son of a Sailor; rugged flannels by Filson; natural bath products from Parisian workshop Le Baigneur; ultra-functional backpacks from Colorado’s Topo Designs; and throwback balsa wood airplanes from Detroit’s Tait Design Co. And trust us, that’s just the beginning. Happy exploring!
