Ever After: Jennifer Schmuckler & Tremaine Atkinson

By Lisa Arnett / Latest / Weddings / September 13, 2019

Tremaine Atkinson, CEO and head distiller of CH Distillery in Chicago, and Jennifer Schmuckler of Delray Beach, Florida, were introduced by mutual friends who noticed they both vacationed in Michigan. And it turns out they also have a shared love for spirits. “When I found out that he makes vodka — I mean, I love vodka — that sort of sealed the deal for me to meet him,” says Schmuckler, who serves on several nonprofit boards in the education sector. “We spoke on the phone on a Sunday and then he flew to Florida on Tuesday… and we were pretty much inseparable after that,” she says. Between them, they have three daughters (ages 20, 21, and 23) from their first marriages. “The timing in our lives to meet one another… it really was perfect.”

Jennifer Anderson Events planned their summer celebration, which began with an intimate ceremony for 20 family members in the Presidential Suite at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago (160 E. Pearson). The party continued at a reception for 100 held at a private club, where tunes by the Don Cagen Orchestra kept the dance floor packed. Atkinson’s college band, Eleven Eleven, reunited for a five-song set including the Romantics’ “What I Like About You” and Billy Idol’s “Dancing With Myself,” and guests took home boxes of dark chocolate cake and mini bottles of Jeppson’s Malört, which CH Distillery now produces in Chicago.
